Obituary for Eliza Alice Hickman (Hooks)
Ms. Eliza Alice Hickman, 70, widow of Jessie Lee Hickman, transitioned from her earthly home on Monday, February 11, 2019 at Oakhaven Nursing Home, Darlington, SC.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Queen Hall Hooks. She attended the public schools of Lee County and was a graduate of Dennis High School. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Mathews Baptist Church.
She was united in holy matrimony to Jessie Lee Hickman in April of 1967. This union was blessed with one child. Jessie preceded her in death on July 19, 2003.
Mrs. Hickman was a seamstress at Bishopville Manufacturer of 18 years. A loving mother and homemaker, she greatly enjoyed sewing, cooking, and caring for her beautiful plants. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter; Alicia (Eric) Hudson of Bishopville, SC; three grandchildren, Eryka Hudson, Aliyah Hudson and Jayden Hudson of Bishopville, SC; two brothers, Nelson (Francis) Hooks of Bronx, NY and Bruce (Liza Mae) Hooks of Charlotte, NC; two sisters-in-law, Frances Hooks of Bishopville, SC and Christine Hooks of Charlotte, NC; two special nieces, Angie Hooks and Coretta Hooks; a special friend, Lorine Aaron; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; Isaac Hooks, Jr., Ernest Hooks, and Harry Edward Hooks.
