Obituary for Azalee M Belvin

God saw the road getting rough, the hill was hard to climb; He gently closed those loving eyes and whispered "Peace Be Thine."

On the 21st day of May, 2019, the Lord in His infinite wisdom, called His daughter home. Azalee M. Belvin was the daughter of the late John and Mary Farmer. She was born on February 13, 1940 in Lee County, South Carolina.

Lee, as she was affectionately known to family and friends was joined in holy matrimony to the late Isaiah McCall in 1959 until his passing in 1073. Later in life, she was joined in holy matrimony to Elisha Belvin.

She attended the public schools of Lee County, South Carolina. She was a graduate of Dennis High School. After graduating from High School, she moved to New York City where she worked as a Teacher's Aide. She later relocated back to South Carolina, completed nurses training and worked in the health care field as a nurse's aide for over 40 years.

She joined St. Matthew Baptist Church at an early age. She served faithfully in many capacities until her health declined. She was the Superintendent of Sunday School, Trustee, Senior Choir member and a member of the Missionary Circle.

She leaves to cherish her memories, three children; Irvin McCall and Michelle McCall Harris of Bishopville, SC, and Master SGT John McCall of California; two grandchildren; Maurice I McCall of Columbia, SC and Mishana L. McCall of Sumter, SC; three great grandchildren, Gabriella McCall, Isabella McCall and Michael Porter; one sister, Lucinda S. Farmer of Bishopville, SC; two brothers, Isaac Massey of Shelby, NC and Boyd H (Lillie Mae) Farmer of Bethune, SC; a special niece, Cathy Haynesworth; a special nephew, Herbert Haggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Farmer; three sisters, Ada Mae Farmer, Lula Mae Forman and Juanita Washington; three brothers, James Edward Farmer, Benny Farmer and James Monroe Farmer.

The management and staff of Square Deal Funeral Home sincerely thank the Belvin family for entrusting us with the final rites of their loved one, Ms. Azalee M. Belvin.
