Mrs. Annie Bell Baker more fondly known as "Ning" by those who dearly loved her, was born in Lee County on September 16, 1946 to the late Mrs. Louvenia Simon Rubin. She departed her earthly life on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. At an early age, she joined Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the public school system of Lee County. She was employed at Mafco and Craig Industries for several years. She was nurturing person who loved caring for children. She actively helped to rear several nieces nephews, and great nieces and nephew. She was a woman of strength and resiliency.
Mrs. Annie Bell Baker was married to the late Marvin Baker. To this union, three children were born: Hope (Alfred) Hayes of Columbia, SC, Greta Baker and Marvin Baker of Bishopvile, SC. She leaves her cherished memories to her loving children; her seven sisters; Janie Mae Baker of Bishopville, SC; Shirley Mae Johnson of Washington, DC; Addie Miller, Lillie Lovely, Leaner Lovely, Elizabeth Lovely, all of Sumter, SC; and Laura Gill of New Jersey; three brothers, Eugene Addison and Freeman Lovely, Sr of New Jersey; and Jimmie Simon of Bishopville; three sister-in-law, Elizabeth Charles, Betty Ann Frierson and Mary Rubin of Bishopville, SC; one brother-in-law, Walter Baker of Bishopville, SC and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Wilhelmenia Rubin; her brothers, Ernest Rubin, Lewis Rubin and Joseph Rubin;and her grandchildren, Mernard Baker and Alzenda Hayes.
