Obituary for Jimmie "Sonny Boy" Simon
Mr. Jimmie Simon, affectionately known as "Sonny Boy", departed this life on June 6, 2020 at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville, SC, following a long period of illness and a stay at the McCoy Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Estell Davis Simon. Jimmie was born November 11, 1934 in Bishopville, SC to the late Luceal Simon Pearson. He attended the public schools of Lee County SC and remained a lifelong servant of the Bishopville community. Jimmie's fatherly love, friendship and leadership will never be forgotten.
"Sonny Boy", as he was well known all his life, was baptized at an early age at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He spent his life working as a Brick Mason and Builder, and took great pride in his work and his accomplishments.
Jimmie was laid to rest June 10, 2020 in a private graveside service at the St. Mark Memorial Garden, Bishopville, SC.
He will be remembered by his family and his many lifelong and devoted friends and work associates. The family wishes to thank the Squared Deal Funeral Home for their expert and professional services rendered as well as all family and friends.
We watched you slowly fade away
We tried so hard to make you stay
But God was watching from above
And took you home to share his love
Perhaps your time seemed all too brief
We won't burden it now with undue grief
