Obituary for Lillie Mae Wilson

Lillie Mae Wilson affectionately known as “Punkin” and “Buck” departed peacefully on January 24th, 2022 at 3:27pm at her home. Lillie was born on February 19th, 1951, in Lee County to the late Christine Charles-Holmes and the late Thomas Brown.

She attended the public schools of Lee County. Lillie was a faithful member of Barnettsville Baptist Church where she served as a member of the usher board, the YWA (Young Women Auxiliary), the Mass Choir and also the Missionary Society. Lillie worked as a material handler at Pilgrim’s Pride in Sumter SC where she later retired after 19 years with the company.

Lillie is survived by her husband; Russell Wilson of the home (Bishopville, SC); her former husband Charlie Wilson III of Bishopville, SC and their two children; Sheldon (Frederika) Wilson of Sumter, SC and Merissa (Andre) Holmes of Bishopville, SC; five grandchildren, Shaquetta (Tray) Greene of Florence, SC, Ashley Wilson of Sumter, SC, DeAndre Holmes, Elesto Bradford and Tatiana Bradley all of Bishopville, SC, 5 great grandchildren, her stepmother Alice Brown of Saginaw, MI; three stepchildren; Jackie Benbow, Tonya Wilson and Christopher Wilson all of Bishopville, SC; three sisters, Lisa Holmes of Bishopville, SC, Delores Ann (Charles) Giles of Saginaw, MI, and Delphine (Frank) Harrison of Bishopville, SC; thirteen brothers, Christopher Holmes of Philadelphia, PA, Elijah Holmes and John Charles both of Bishopville, SC, Bob Charles of TX, Thomas (Denice) Brown Jr., Charles (Celestia) Brown, Henry (Annette) Brown, Roy (Patrice) Brown and Michael Brown all of Saginaw, MI, Tyrone Brown of Sterling Heights, MI, Ricky (Gloria) Brown of Myersville, MD, Bruce (Yvonne) Brown of Aceworth, GA AND Thomas Simon of FL; seven sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. A host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Lillie was proceeded in death by her mother Christine Charles-Holmes, her father Thomas Brown and her brother Harry Charles.
